No - All US residents are required to interview at Darden. If you haven't visited the campus yet, use this as a chance to get to know the place. They have events all day to help you meet other students and faculty and visit classes - take advantage of it!

There was only one question - "tell me about yourself and why you want to come to Darden." From there, she asked follow-up questions based on my answers.

Read my essays, prepared good stories for the typical questions (i.e. examples of teamwork, leadership, strengths and weaknesses, etc.).

No - She just said it was nice to speak with me, and it sounded sincere, but I don't think that was qualtative feedback on my performance.

Superb. Interesting people who are excited to teach there and are excited you are there as well.
What was your opinion of the Alumni?:

n/a

What was your opinion of the Students?:
Incredibly smart and personable. I actually think this is not the right program for me, but I was so impressed by the students that it will be a very difficult decision if I am admitted. The students were just amazing.
What was your opinion of the Office Personnel?:
Incredibly friendly and helpful.
Did you receive a tour?:
Yes
What was most impressive?:
The people - students, faculty and staff.
What was least impressive?:
Dang, Charlottesville is FAR from civilization. The campus itself is beautiful, but you will be hard pressed to find much life outside of it.
Did anything change your opinion of the school? :
Yes - Dramatically. You aren't able to appreciate how truly great this program is until you've sat in on the classes. The students and professors are amazing.
Was there something you wish you had known ahead of time?:
Yes - That I should relax. This is the most non-threatening, non-intimidating business school interview ever. Ever. That is not to say that you should not prepare thoroughly - you should. But there is no reason to be stressed about it. No one is out to get you or to try to make you slip up - they just really want to get to know you as a person.
Suggestions for travel to the school?:
Don't speed. The police are everywhere. Plan on a good 3 hours down from DC so you aren't tempted to go over the speed limit. One person I know got 3 speeding tickets on one trip from Charlottesville to DC. I'm not kidding.
What other advice can you offer future interviewees?:
Prepare well, but other than that, just relax and be yourself.
