Consultant Profile: Libby Angst

My goal is to help as many young people as possible maximize their potential by finding meaning in their careers and personal lives. Having gone through the intense and time-consuming process of applying to business school while working full-time, I can attest it is well worth the effort. I can promise that gaining admission to the right MBA program can change your life. My experience afforded me the opportunity to meet new people, travel the world, advance my career, and live more intentionally.

I have always been passionate about helping people identify what makes them exceptional. That is why I have always enjoyed helping friends brainstorm their perfect personal statement topic and refine their admission story before interviews. It is rewarding to have been a part of journeys that have ended with acceptance calls from HBS, Stanford, Kellogg, Booth, Wharton, Anderson, Columbia, Stern, and Ross. I am excited to embark on the same rewarding journey with you.

The Kellogg Admissions Office trained me how to evaluate MBA applications and identify the strong personal, professional, leadership and academic traits that the top programs seek in their student admits. As part of the Kellogg Admissions team, I have evaluated interview feedback forms, video essays, and written responses from students around the world. In addition to evaluating applications, I led the Kellogg Student Admissions Committee. I trained and oversaw 30 fellow students through each round of submissions during my second year at Kellogg. This experience taught me the dos and don’ts that will help applicants stand out and break through.

When not reviewing MBA applications, I am an enthusiastic world traveler who has spent six years working in the hospitality industry. I began my travel career working for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in their regional sales offices in Chicago and San Francisco. Later I worked on property at the Four Seasons Hotel in Silicon Valley. After my second year, I was awarded the company’s most prestigious sales title, Sales Manager of the Year, among 230 managers in North and South America. Later, I consulted with all major hotel brands on revenue management and marketing strategies at TravelClick, a software company that provides revenue-generating marketing and solutions for the hospitality industry. Working for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, TravelClick, and JLL’s Hotel and Hospitality Group has moved me across the country from Chicago, San Francisco, Palo Alto, New York City, Atlanta and back again.

My interests outside of work and graduate school center around serving the homeless. Most recently I have become involved volunteering and serving as a Board Member with The Night Ministry, a Chicago-based non-profit. I am also a self-taught barista and enjoy making Italian espresso drinks and practicing latte art.
